The Northern Border Terrier Club Open Show (09-04-2022)

Second Place in Open - Dog, Judge: Mr. Tim Ball (Kaitak)

Show Critique:

A thoroughly enjoyable day and my thanks go to the officers and committee for their kind invitation to judge their well-run Open Show. I was delighted with the excellent entry and what a pleasure it was to spend a day with the Borders and their owners. There were some well-filled classes which gave me lots to think about and some decisions were extremely close. A lovely atmosphere prevailed and applause for the winners was consistent throughout.

Placing Critique:

5 yr old blue/tan who differs in type to the winner and is a tad bigger all round but with so much to like and good to go over. Moderate length of neck, good topline, ribs carried well back, muscular loin and tail just right for set and carriage. Masculine head and expression with good skull to muzzle proportions, dark eyes set well apart and good dentition. He stands nice and straight in front on excellent feet with correct width to chest and is firm behind with well let down hocks. Moving soundly but winner had the edge on the go around. Harsh jacket and good pelt, shown in firm hard condition and handled to advantage.
