Northern Counties Sporting Terrier Association Open Show (24-03-2019)

Second Place in Puppy - Bitch, Judge: Mrs P Cox (Cushatlaw) & Dr M Armstrong (Ploughdown)

Show Critique:

Judge: Dr Margaret Armstrong (Ploughdown), Bitches, Thank you to the committee of the Northern Counties Sporting Terrier Association for inviting me to judge at their group open show. I’d also like to thank my stewards for their sterling work in keeping things flowing. There was a lovely atmosphere at the show and the officers and exhibitors were very welcoming. I had a great entry of Border Terrier bitches and my placings were greeted with gracious courtesy. It was a bracing, sunny day and it was good for the Border Terriers to be judged outside, which largely seemed to suit all.

Placing Critique:

11 month old grizzle bitch. Very much a different type from 1. Lots to like about this young girl. Strong head and very pleasing expression, with dark eye and good ear placement. Good big teeth and scissor bite. Straight front with appropriate shoulder placement. In almost full coat with plenty of pelt. Easily spanned. Great carrot tail. Good bone and level top line which she held very well on the move. Moved well in both directions and circled the ring with drive. Just preferred the racy lines of 1.
