The Sporting Terrier Association Of Yorkshire Open Show (22-10-2017)

First Place in Open, Judge: Debbie Lorraine (Raleniro)

Show Critique:

I would like to thank the committee for the invitation to judge at this show. I understand this was the first of their shows to be held at this venue and it was a shame that the entry across all breeds was quite low. It is a good venue with spacious rings, and I do hope that terrier exhibitors in the area support this Association’s future shows. Thank you to my Steward, and most importantly, thank you to the exhibitors who entered their dogs under me. It was a small but quality entry with some close decisions. Thank you for the sporting way in which you accepted my decisions. I found no incorrect bites and all dogs were entire.

Class Critique:

A very close decision and could easily change places on another day.

Placing Critique:

Almost 4 year old grizzle and tan dog who I have judged before and find him to have matured nicely. Strong otter head with good strength of muzzle and excellent scissor bite. Straightest of fronts, enough depth of brisket but narrow throughout and spannable. Correct layback of shoulder, good topline and tailset. Good thick pelt with tweedy coat of excellent texture. Correct hind angulation with good turn of stifle. Moved steadily fore and aft and went around the ring with a little more drive than 2 which sealed his win today. Best of
